Hi, First post - please be gentle. I would like get the problem fixed as I need to drive the truck on the highway but the dealership says they can not tell me the problem until the light stays on. I know this thread is dead but i thought i'd share my experience. Door ajar switches are wired directly to the vehicle security module. Turned off the vehicle, restarted - no codes stored. I drove the truck to work the next morning with the light on and when I got off work to take it over to the dealership the light was off. I would do this with the battery unhooked.

The gauge failed due to a faulty stepper motor. Ford has been helpful and easy to talk with by phone and on this forum. If it does move replace that U-joint,but if you are going to replace one then I would do both since you will have the drive shaft out any way. The affected Focus models were built in Michigan between October 26 and 27 of last year, and all affected C-Max vehicles were built in the same location on just one day, October 26, 2016. Fast forward 4 weeks after a business trip that left the truck sitting and 600 mile drive to attend a funeral. The instrument cluster is non-repairable with the exception of the instrument cluster lens and indicator bulbs.
