Yesterday the car wouldn't start again when I pressed the brake pedal and pushed the start button. When I push the button it will click as if the battery is dead new battery and then nothing. No matter the situation, Advance Auto Parts has the Starter product you desperately need. I was wondering how many ppl with the same issue are needed for an issue like this to be considered a recall because with that being a damaged part there is no other way to start the car. I also told Nissan usa this was a huge safety concern for me.
Its normal use for this latch yet it broke off after having the car for a year. Mine was covered by warranty, but he had to pay for a new part. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake light switch was faulty and needed to be replaced. I have never seen the repair work and looked very well.
I placed the car in park and when I attempted to restart, the car turned on but when pushing the gas the car would barely accelerate. Sometimes it can take 4 or 5 tries until the vehicle starts with the push button start. After setting for a couple more hours it finally crank. I have tried all types of jump packs and this one is the lightest and most powerful of any I have tested. Went to get groceries after that and when I came out of the grocery store, I had the same problem. Remove, install and go, with minimum downtime for the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired.
And now almost on a daily basis want start without pumping the brakes. I then received another recall notice on the computer chip which causes a faulty signal to the starter. But scares me just the same. After contacting the texas aaa motor club and having them come and verify that the car's battery was fully charged and could run the starter, the car started without any corrective action being taken. Always verify all wires, wire colors and diagrams before applying any information found here to your 2010 Nissan Altima.
This seems to work so far, it has happened many times. Some days it starts, others it doesn't. Calmly move steering wheel back and forth and make sure shift lever is all the way forward. I described the problem to them and they said it was a bad brake switch. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. Vdc lights also come on at random times while driving.
Put the original back on, cleared the code and the car is running fine. Did not know I was about to be stranded, when I got to where I needed. All previous instances I have managed to get it to start a day or two later. After the push to start button was installed, the vehicle would not restart after being driven after approximately 15 minutes. Once it catches, the car runs just fine. I've done research on this problem and it appears Nissan extended the warranty for this part but never issued a recall so that it could be fixed.
All systems turn off including the ability to steer and stop. I have read numerous complaints from other owners having the same issue with the car not starting. Com where I found a number of ppl with the same issue. I took it to the dealership Nissan legacy who reported that there was an issue with the brake switch and harness which need to be replaced. It's one of the many reasons this car was named and given our Beware of this Clunker badge.
