Nath rescues Meg, and the sheriff pursues Pete as he flees in his car. Meg, having heard the gunshot, finds Ellen then rushes back to tell Pete, who refuses to act to help his sister. In the meantime, Teller goes to Tibby's home and persuades her to leave town with him. When Nath insists on using a short cut home through the woods, Pete gets quite agitated and warns him of screams in the night, of terrors associated with the red house. Nath has burned it down to put it in the past.
Pete is furious that both young people defied his warning to stay out of the woods and he outright fires Nath, banishing him from the farm and from seeing Meg again. However, he admits that he killed the husband in cold blood. Synopsis We don't know what it was, but we're certain that Phantom of the Red House went by a different title when it was originally released in Mexico. As they heard her husband returning, Jeannie began screaming. Pete takes off in his truck, but drives into the ice house, where the truck sinks in the large pond formed by the melted ice, and Pete drowns. Meg phones Nath for help and he says he will bring a stretcher after he calls the sheriff and the doctor.
Meg returns to the house with Nath, who takes Pete's rifle and goes after Teller after calling the sheriff. On his arrival Lee also feels lost in this foreign land. Pete, meanwhile, tells Teller, a local drifter, to use no restraint in keeping people out of the woods. It was released again on March 29, 2016 as a standalone Blu-ray by The Film Detective. Pete claims he was just trying to keep her quiet, and her death was accidental. He returns to the farm and insists that Pete hit him, but Meg and Ellen say Pete has been in the room with them since Nath left.
You can sleep, or dine and socialize, in some of the same rooms filmed in the movie. Meg demands the truth about the red house and who Jeannie is. Pete reacts with rage and threatens to whip Meg if she ever enters the woods again. Ellen, who for years has been in love with the town doctor, Byrne, sacrificed a life of happiness to take care of Pete after he nearly went insane following an incident at the red house in Ox Head woods fifteen years earlier. By the time Nath arrives, Ellen is dead. Some other nearby locations in the Seattle area were also utilized for filming.
